ASSA ABLOY is the largest global supplier of door opening solutions. Yale is a part of the ASSA ABLOY Group.
Yale wanted a new communication module for their well known smart door lock Yale Doorman. The module should communicate over Zigbee HA (Home Automation) protocol, something Datek has many years of experience with.
Datek was selected based on technical expertise, a well-functioning gateway and focus on security.
We have both designed a new communication module based on our own Zigbee based Dream Module (integrating with existing interfaces in the product), as well as developing the software that is in the module and communicate with the door lock.
As part of the project, Yale Doorman was also integrated with our smart home gateway Homegate, enabling it to communicate with the door lock through Datek’s cloud solution and API for Smart homes.
An encryption solution has also been developed that gives Yale control over compatible gateways. To communicate with the door lock an encryption key is assigned to authorized gateway providers.
The communication module enables Yale to support integration from selected partners with different gateways in a new and efficient way. At the same time they have full control over which gateways access the Yale’s ecosystem.
